Kayode Olubunmi Ojo, a frontline governorship aspirant in Ekiti State, on Wednesday, said the people of the state are more preoccupied with having a governor that will effect positive change in their lives irrespective of where the person comes from.
Describing the people of Ekiti as being sophisticated with a mind to take decisions on their own, he said the people of the state will always cast their votes for any candidate they believe can improve on what he meets on ground and take governance to another level.
Ojo, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who spoke with newsmen in Lagos, said he has the requisite experience to place Ekiti on the global map and bring rapid development to the state if elected in the June 18, 2022 governorship election.
On the clamour by some people that it is the turn of Ekiti-South to produce Governor Kayode Fayemi’s successor, Ojo said: “I am not saying that Southern Ekiti does not have people. We have great people in Ekiti-South but the way Ekiti is structured, everybody is going to go to the polls and Ekiti people will choose who they want.”
